At the McClanahan Agency, it is our priority to provide peace and protection to our community’s most vulnerable neighbors. Our primary focus is to address the impact of food insecurity amongst young children in our local area. We aim to raise awareness around the lack of resources offered to children from underprivileged families and, therefore, have decided to launch a campaign to provide assistance and resources to improve the lives of local children in the area. We are proud to announce that our agency will be joining Backpack Buddies of Georgia in its mission to provide a shared voice on issues of hunger and food access.
Backpack Buddies is a non-profit organization that provides food over the weekend to economically challenged students in the Coweta County School System. What’s more, the staff and volunteers work with school counselors to identify children “at-risk” for hunger and supply them with nutritious, self-serve food that will sustain them when school meals are not available.
The Backpack Buddies program is essential to help relieve hunger, which in turn will improve grades, health, school attendance, and self-esteem in these children. The staff and volunteers work to eliminate childhood hunger by helping launch various projects to help where it’s needed most. When you recommend someone to us for a quote, we offer to donate $10 to organizations focused on raising food and money for food-insecure families in our community on your behalf. And yes, that is for EACH friend you send us. You do the math!
